Henry McGarity Obituary

He was an avid gardener and fisherman. He sometimes sold tomatoes at the Henry County Farmer's Market. He loved to host a good fish fry for all his friends at his home. Henry was a hardworking man, often referred to as the renaissance man that could fix anything. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Mr. McGarity is survived by his wife of 70 years, Edith Tanner McGarity, and his sister, Mary Tingle. He is also survived by his son, Daniel (Linda) and daughter, Karen McGarity (Van) Lake; three grandchildren, Kim, Jeff, and Megan (Chris); five great-grandchildren, Elliott, William, Rose, Marley, and Bennett.
A funeral service to honor Henry's life will take place on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, beginning 11:00 AM in the East Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. Interment will follow the service at Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Hampton, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
