Henry Mono Obituary
Henry Mono (86) of New York City, NY, died in the Philadelphia area on August 28, 2024.
He was born in Paris, France in 1938 to Leon and Berthé (née Finifter) Monowitz. They fled Paris in 1940, and together found refuge in the United States in 1942.
Raised on the Upper West Side, Henry was a proud graduate of Brooklyn Tech High School; New York University, Columbia University Business School, and Pace University Law School. He was a dedicated civil servant, who worked to ensure fair labor practices and just worker’s compensation for injuries. He was a proud member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom and Community Free Democrats.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Joyce (née Dichter) Mono. He is survived by son Larry (and companion Cyndi) of Los Angeles, CA; son Brian (and wife Jessica, née Stiteler) of Philadelphia, PA; and two grandchildren, Jacob and Talia.
Friends and family are welcome to attend a funeral service at Society Hill Synagogue at 9:30 am on Friday, August 30, 2024. Burial will take place at the Wellwood Cemetery (E.N.Y. Progressive Society section) in the early afternoon.
