It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Henry Bruce Pike, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who left us peacefully on November 3, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on October 25, 1931, in Greenville, SC to the late William and Hattie Bell Pike, Henry lived a life characterized by dedication, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his family.
A proud veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War era, Bruce served his country with honor. Following his military service, he began a successful career as a machinist in the textile industry, where he applied his skills and craftsmanship for many years until his retirement.
Bruce is survived by his devoted son, David Pike, and his loving daughter, Darlene Eddleman, along with his son-in-law, Dean Eddleman. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Davis Pike, April Winder, and Annie Goodwin, and as a great-grandfather to his darling Maely Pike. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he took great joy in spending time with them.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joann Pike; daughter-in-law, Kathy Pike; sister, Carolyn Cox; and brother, Lewis Pike.
A visitation will be held Monday November 10, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland East Memorial Park.
Bruce Pike will be remembered for his kind spirit, steadfast values, and the profound impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will live on through his family and all who were touched by his graciousness. He will be dearly missed, but his memory will forever remain in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harvest Hope Food Bank.
