It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cheng Hsiung Tsai, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who departed this life on November 7, 2025, at the age of 82. Cheng-Hsiung was a resident of Simpsonville, South Carolina, where he had made his home for many years.
Cheng-Hsiung was born in Taiwan on February 21, 1943. He married his devoted wife, Chin-Pin Tsai, with whom he shared a loving partnership for 52 wonderful years. In 1986, with a vision for a better future for his family, Cheng-Hsiung made the courageous decision to move to the United States. Prior to this, he worked as an electrician in Taiwan, but upon relocating, he adapted his skills to work in the restaurant industry. There, he dedicated himself to long hours as a chef, driven by the desire to provide for his family, a testament to his unwavering work ethic and commitment.
Cheng-Hsiung took great pride in his role as a husband and father to his children, Tom Tsai (Ashley Yeh), Amy Bower (Aaron), and George Tsai (Helen). He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Alec Tsai, Kaylin Tsai, Xander Bower, Xaden Bower, Charlie Tsai, and Olivia Tsai - bringing joy and wisdom to their lives.
After retiring, Cheng-Hsiung found immense joy in tending to his garden and caring for his yard and trees, a reflection of his nurturing spirit.
His family invites all who knew him to remember him for the kindness and love he shared throughout his life. Cheng-Hsiung will be deeply missed and will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
