Wayne Carlton Dilleshaw, 94, of Easley, South Carolina, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Born in Greenville, South Carolina on June 15, 1931, he was one of four sons born to the late William Preston and Elsie Connors Dilleshaw.
Wayne proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. His 40 year career was spent as a loyal employee with Duke Energy company.
He was a passionate supporter of the Clemson Tigers and found joy in both playing and watching sports. An avid outdoorsman, Wayne loved spending his time in nature and was known for his enthusiasm for golf. He cherished family vacations at Hilton Head Island, where he delighted in the grilled shrimp from the Sea Shack.
Among Wayne's favorite pastimes were traveling and savoring sweet treats, with coffee being his constant companion loved until the last drop. He had a deep appreciation for Gospel and Country music and was a devoted fan of Elvis. His warmth and kindness endeared him to many, and he was often described as a sweet man with a generous spirit. Wayne found great joy in his family and his church family at Rock Springs Baptist Church, where he spent many fulfilling moments in fellowship.
A host of family is left to cherish his memory including his wife and best friend of 20 years, Patricia Ferguson Dilleshaw, of the home; two daughters, Jackie Church (Steve) of Taylors and Jan Parker of Greenville; three granddaughters, Erin Hammond of Greer, Jenna Pinckney (Ian) of Taylors, and Ronni Short (Chris) of Lancaster, SC; four great grandchildren, Neely Hammond, Lucas Hammond of Greer, Walker Pinckney, and Sawyer Pinckney of Taylors; two stepchildren, Janet Swett Laurens of Easley and Earl Ferguson of Easley; three step grandchildren, Chris Swett (Sabrina) of Pickens, Mark Anthony "Tony" Swett Jr. of Easley, and Hyatt Ferguson (Maria) of Murrieta, CA; eight step great grandchildren, Isaiah Swett, Hezekiah Swett, Uriah Swett all of Pickens, Rylie Swett, Maddie Swett, and Hunter Swett of Easley, and Ayla Ferguson and Hudson Ferguson of California.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was reunited in heaven with his beloved siblings, Lucille Robertson, Russell Dilleshaw, William Dilleshaw, and Lester Dilleshaw. He was also predeceased by his former wife, Kathleen Goodlett Dilleshaw.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on November 15, 2025, in the Chapel at Rock Springs Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
