Wesley H.C. Tsai, who was born on February 12, 1928 in Amoy, China, passed away on May 28, 2025 in Stamford, CT. His passing has left an enormous hole in our hearts who loved him.
He was a great, intelligent, and kind man who lived life to its fullest. A former Merchant Marine in China, he held a Bachelor's degree in engineering and worked for Pitney Bowes as a Mechanical Engineer for over 40 years. One of many examples of who he was, while working at Pitney Bowes, he opened a Chinese restaurant, "East Gate", on Summer Street for one of his best friends who needed work as a chef; he invested in his friend and bought the restaurant.
He also showed incredible compassion and generosity by helping bring Vietnamese refugees to our community, opening his home and heart to those in need. He brought his entire family here for a foundation for their dreams to take root and flourish in their new homeland.
One of his true loves was owning a catamaran business in Puerto Rico, "East Wind". He loved the ocean and meeting new people every day. His true love of the outdoors was fishing. You could always find him fishing on the Shippan pier and trying to always help others, if needed.
Wesley Tsai was a beloved spouse to Linda Li Tsai and a devoted father to his sons, Jing Tong, Gerald Jing Ming Tsai and his daughter, Sueloung Tsai. He was the devoted grandfather to Samantha Schell, Taylor Schell, Erica Ozanne, Emily Loeffel and great grandfather to Jonah. Wesley always held a special place for his nieces, nephews and God's children. Wesley was preceded in death from his first spouse, Aramita Quiles Tsai.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 5th from 4pm – 8pm at Bosak Funeral Home & Cremation, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 6th at 10am at First Presbyterian Church, 1101 Bedford, Street, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, 124 Rock Rimmon Road, Stamford, CT.
