Henry Herschel Reffitt

Henry Herschel Reffitt, 71, of McArthur, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025, at Four Winds Community in Jackson. Henry was born on October 6, 1953, in Floyd County, Kentucky, the son of the late Henry Reffitt and Hazel (Ousley) Reffitt Ousley.

Henry was a 1973 graduate of Vinton County High School. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He also loved visiting with family and friends. Whenever asked how he was doing, Henry always replied “Still kicking, but not too high”.

Henry is survived by his sister, Loretta (Jim) Martin; brothers, Arnold Shorty Reffitt and Herbert (Janice) Reffitt; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who were very close and helpful to Henry.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Miley Reffitt; brother and sister-in-law, Amos and Myrtle Reffitt; sister, Jenetta Sue Boyer; and step father, Chester Ousley.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the Garrett Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St, McArthur, with Reverend Jerry Griffith Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Family and friends may visit from 11 am to 1 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
