Gamble Funeral ServiceMr. Henry Jackson Rogers, 92, of Savannah, passed away suddenly on March 6, 2026. Jack was born August 1, 1933 in Savannah and was the son of the late Israel Steven Rogers and Elizabeth Wilby Rogers. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church. Jack graduated from Commercial High School. After graduation Jack joined the Air Force and served his country during the Korean War. Jack served in the 283rd Air National Guard and served until his retirement in 1993. He had over 33 years of service with the military. Jack was a Life Member of IAM & AW 650 Machinist Union while serving as the Secretary & Treasurer. Jack worked at what used to be American Cyanamid, Kemrira before it was Tronox for over 40+ years. Jack loved to travel the US with his family and any relatives that tagged along for the joyride. Jack enjoyed walking and visiting with friends at the mall.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his two brothers: Donald W. Rogers, and Walter J. Rogers, and a sister Patty R. Cowart. Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Mary S. Rogers, two sons Kenneth B. Rogers of Winder, and David A. Rogers of Pooler, a sister Mary R. Wilson, Monroe, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday March 11th from 5:00-7:00 pm at Gamble Funeral Service 410 Stephenson Ave. Savannah, GA. Funeral services will be held on March 12th at 11:00 am at Grace Methodist Church on Waters Ave, Savannah, GA.
Burial will be held at Hillcrest Abbey West on Dean Forest Rd, Savannah, GA.
Serving as pallbearers are Ron Rogers, Michael Rogers, Samuel Chappelear, Alan Wilson, Steve Cowart and Lee Moon. Gamble Funeral Service is in charge of all arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Grace Fellowship 6412 Waters Ave. Savannah, GA 3140
