Henry Schreck

Henry Louis Schreck, 70, of Poughkeepsie, New York, passed away on November 12, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on April 4, 1955, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late Martin H. Schreck and Eileen Schreck.
Henry grew up in a large and close-knit family. He is survived by his sister, Mary Vona of Highland, New York; his brothers, Robert Schreck of Poughkeepsie and Samuel Schreck of Poughkeepsie; and by several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He is also survived by his sons, Christopher Schreck and Cody Harpster, and his granddaughter, Laura Lee Rose, all of whom were the pride of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers Martin Schreck, Jr., David Schreck, and his twin brother, Thomas Schreck.
Henry worked for many years at H.A. Schreck Incorporated in Poughkeepsie, where he was a valued and dedicated member of the team. Known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and easygoing nature, he formed lasting friendships with colleagues and customers alike. He was also a devoted member of the Elks Lodge and deeply treasured the friendships and camaraderie he found there.
Outside of work, Henry found joy in the simple pleasures he loved most: spending time on the golf course and driving his Corvette. These were moments when he felt most at peace, embracing the freedom of the open road and the quiet focus of a good game.
Henry will be remembered for his humor, gentle spirit, and the deep love he held for his family. His presence will be profoundly missed and forever cherished by those who knew him.
Calling hours will be held at Timothy Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603, on Tuesday, November 18th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 19th at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
