Henry Straub Obituary
Born on July 20, 1944, in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Helen D. (Martin) and Henry E. Straub, Jr.
Hank graduated from Bethlehem Vocational School and earned an associate's degree in industrial relations from Northampton Community College. He served our country in the United States Navy-where he was in the submarine service. Hank was an active member at Sacred Heart Church, Bethlehem--he served as a eucharistic minister and was PTA president for the church. He also was a charter member and president of the Bethlehem Lions Club.
In his free time, Hank enjoyed watching NASCAR, he was an avid fan. He also loved to spend a lot of time tending to his yard, flowers, and pond. Above all, Hank will be remembered for his loving and compassionate nature-he would lend a helping hand to anyone. He was hard working, enjoyed making others laugh, and his family always came first. Hank will be dearly missed by all of those who loved him.
Hank will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 57 years, Rita J. (Tackash) Straub; daughter, Lauren (Ben) Hugo; grandson, Christopher (Autumn) Straub, Jr.; two sisters, Rita Ann (Martin) Johnson and Regina Anders; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Hank is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Straub, Sr.; grandson, Nathaniel Straub; and sister, Margaret Leidich.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023, from 7-9 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 1817 1st St., Bethlehem, PA 18020. Interment will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church Memorial Society, 1817 1st St, Bethlehem, PA 18020 or ALS Assosication, 321 Norristown Rd., #260, Ambler, PA 19002.
