Henry “Wayne” Walker, 83 passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Annie Penn Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Doug Bray officiating. Burial will follow in Happy Home Church Cemetery. The family will see friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. At other times they will be at 1331 Chumley Loop Road, Eden.

Wayne was born in Rockingham County to the late Abner Henry Walker and Elma Parsons Walker. He was a retiree of The American Tobacco Company with 23 years service and  a member of Church Street Baptist Church. He was a farmer for many years and loved helping his boys with their projects. He enjoyed family gatherings and Bluegrass music. Wayne never met a stranger. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Frances Hundley Walker; son H.W. Walker; granddaughter Danielle Walker; sister Druscilla  Walker Hutchens and brothers-in-law Jimmy Hundley and David Hundley.

Survivors are his wife Nona Routh Walker; children Virginia Walker Matney and husband Amos, Glenn Walker and wife Melissa and Jason Walker and wife Jo; grandchildren Kyle Lawrence, Stephen Walker and Abby, Amber Lawrence and Chad, Savannah Walker, Kayla Walker, Haley Walker, Mallory Walker,  Emily Kallam and Natalie Kallam; great grandchildren Aleece Hill, Lizzie Lawrence, Henry Lawrence and one on the way; brothers Richard Walker and Fred Walker and wife Judy; brother-in-law Dillard Hutchens; sister-in-law Robin Hundley;  many nieces and nephews and a wonderful extended family that Wayne and Nona shared together.
