Henry Lee Worrell, 85, of Goochland, VA, ran to meet Jesus on his birthday, January 1, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hadley and Ocie Worrell; and his brother, Roy Worrell. He is survived by his wife "old lady" of 62 years, Lynda Hanks Worrell; daughters, Sharon Swift, Lisa Worrell, Amy Bowles (Thomas), and Lesley Nicholas (Kevin); grandchildren, Charles (Ansley), Mary (John), Kourtney (Josh), Kailey (Tyler), Hadley and Carter; and great-grandchildren, Granville and Raelynne. He is also survived by his brother, Ricky Worrell (Diana); and sister-in-law, Nancy Worrell.
He was a proud member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union #10 for 64 years and the Westhampton Masonic Lodge #302 AF & AM for 60 years. He proudly served in the US Coast Guard as an Engineman Third Class from 1959 to 1967. He was a man who loved his family and Lord fiercely, a man of tremendous faith who rarely missed a Sunday from church, obtaining 20 Perfect Attendance Pins from Smyrna Baptist Church, where he is a lifelong member.
He cherished spending time with family and friends, eating, visiting, and playing cards.
He enjoyed farming his land, hunting, and fishing. He spent his last few minutes on this earthly world on the land he loved, hauling a buck with his tractor.
The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, January 4th, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home located at 2982 River Road West, Goochland, Virginia. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 5th at 11 a.m. at Smyrna Baptist Church, located at 1470 Rock Castle Road, Goochland, VA. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, followed by a fellowship meal.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Goochland Fire and Rescue, 1800 Sandy Hook Road, Goochland, VA.

Henry was a good neighbor, a friend of my family and he was always lending a helping hand. If you look up the definition of 'close knit family' you would see a picture of Henry and Lynda and all their family. What a legacy for the family to continue. He will be missed.
