Obituary for Heraklis Papagermanos

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Heraklis Papagermanos, who fell asleep in the Lord on September 30, 2025, at the blessed age of 94.

Heraklis was the devoted and loving husband of his late wife, a remarkable father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a man of deep faith and a true servant of the Church, whose dedication and example continue to inspire all who knew him. His life was defined by devotion-to his family, to his community, and above all, to God.

Heraklis is survived by his beloved children:

Stavros H. Papagermanos and Maria Andreatos

Fotios Papagermanos

Michael and Lola Papagermanos

Barbara Papagermanos-Itty and Thomas Itty

He was the cherished grandfather of:

Vassiliki Papagermanos-Mirisis and Anastasios Mirisis

Demetrios Papagermanos

Nathaniel and Alexandra Itty

Stefanos Papagermanos

And the proud great-grandfather of Theodore John Mirisis.

He is also survived by his dear sisters-in-law, Matoula Papagermanos and Ioanna Karavasilis, along with many cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends in the United States, Canada, and Greece.

Heraklis will be remembered as a man of dignity, humility, and unwavering faith. His devotion to his family and to the traditions of the Church remain a lasting testament to the life he lived.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Special Fund for the Cultivation of and Education in Byzantine Music and Chanting at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Resurrection of Brookville, NY.
