Herbert E. Adkins

Mr. Herbert Ellet Adkins, age 82, of Manchester, TN, a veteran of the United States Army, passed away late Saturday evening, November 16, 2024 at his home with his family by his side. He was born November 20, 1941 to the late Herbert L. and Mable M. (Turner) Adkins.In addition to his parents Herb was also preceded in death by seven brothers, Bob Martin, Leann Adkins, Okey Adkins, Herbert L. Adkins Jr., Fred Adkins, Paul H. Adkins and Noah Graham; and granddaughter, Aubry E. Cowles.Herb worked and retired from Ranco as a Senior Tool Engineer. He was a carpenter and enjoyed woodworking, mechanics, coin collecting, gun collecting, tractors, Ford trucks, taking care of his property and spending time with his friends and family.Herb is survived by four children, Herbert E. Adkins Jr. of Sebring, FL, Malinda M. Adkins Chapell of Lake Placid, FL, Sonya E. Cowles of Zephyrhills, FL, Amanda L. Mixson of Dade City, FL; 7 grandchildren; 9 greatgrandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and his long time partner, Antoinette Adkins and their dogs, Clancy and Max.A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.The Family request that donations be made to Adoration Hospice, 851 McArthur St., Suite A, Manchester, TN 37355.
