Herbert "Butch" Casey, Jr.

 

A graveside service will be held for Herbert “Butch” Giles Casey, Jr. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Atkins Cemetery in Athens Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Rev. Tommy Davidson will officiate.

Butch was born on January 9, 1946, in Minden, LA to Herbert G. Casey, Sr. and Georgia Hays Casey. He passed away on July 21, 2023, in Ruston, LA, with his loving family by his side. Butch was a loving husband, father, adoring grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed going to Bonnie and Clyde Trade Days and being with his cowboy group. He was big into SBC, and doing reenactments. Butch will be greatly missed by his adoring family.

Butch is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Georgia Casey.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy Casey, children, Herbert “Trey” G. Casey, III, and Colleen Welch and husband David, grandchildren H.G. Casey IV, Kristen Carter and husband Joe David, Jr., Sydney Marie Rogers, Connor Welch, Megan Leboeuf, and Faith Welch, great grandchildren Dawson Carter, Lorelei Carter, Braydon Smith, and Alyssa Autin, sister Tonia Thompson and husband Fred, and by numerous other loving family and friends.

Honoring Butch as pallbearers will be Joe Carter, Gavin Pickens, Kyle Rogers, Steve Hollis, Robby Byrd, and Rodney Carroll.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Valentine.

In lieu of flowers, a love donation for Mrs. Nancy would be appreciated.
