Dear Jill,
Since I don't live in Akron now, I didn't hear about this. I am so sorry. I truly believe the two of you kept me alive during my cancer bouts. He was willing to try anything and so was I. One of my favorite memories was when he would take phone calls from insurance companies during my visit and entertain me while I listened to him ream them a new one. I always felt he was on my side.
If you remember, Jill, you offered to help me with anything, including taking my daughter to or from school. She is now in her late 30's and has a great job traveling around the world for a college. This, too, wouldn't have been possible without him and you.
Love you, bless you..

My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Dr. Croft, an excellent physician, in his passing. I had the privilege of working with him as he treated his patients at the time, in the holding area of the Emergency Department at Akron General. He met then personally to conduct their care, not delegating this to the resident staff. I also benefitted from his largess to the then University of Akron, College of Nursing (now the School of Nursing) as a graduate student and now a faculty member. Of many this is said, but he will be truly missed.

Dr. Croft was a mentor to me. In addition to all of his patients that love him (including my father), every patient I see reaps the benefits of his skills. He will reside in my heart always. Jill, my thoughts are with you.

Dear Jill,
So sad to hear of Herb's passing. He was an inspiration in how to be a good doctor and still enjoy life. So many wonderful times together with you guys, and such a blessing to have his help and guidance in managing sick patients. Even though he will be missed terribly, his presence in so many lives I hope is a comfort for you.

It was with great sadness that I learned of Herb´s passing. He was one of the first physicians that I met when I arrived here in 1972 to assume the cardiology program at Akron General. He was so supportive of me in every possible way. But I often say any of my financial success was due to Herb`s introduction to me of an excellent accountant. Herb then guided me into how to set up a practice And how to take care of patients in the best possible way. He was funny, charming, personable, and above all a great doctor. We would often see each other and joke about things and he was so helpful to me. I have never forgotten this help. I am so sorry for his loss. Akron is going to miss a great man signed George I Litman MD

Dr Croft was my doctor during my fight with leukemia back in the 60´s. He remained as my doc for many years. He always was a caring, compassionate, positive physician who always has time to listen. He began as my doctor and ended up being a friend. He helped so many individuals,

Dr. Croft took care of my father, Sam Merendino, during an arduous lung cancer treatment; while in remission & coming home from check-ups, Sam would share that he was a perfect specimen ... :) giving thanks to Dr. Croft, in whom Sam had complete trust. My family has great respect for the expertise and kindness of Dr. Croft and are grateful for his care; he will be missed.

If I am making the right memory-connections, I believe that Dr. Croft's parents, Ray and Florence, resided in Kissimmee, Florida in their later years and I was privileged to be their pastor. They were an absolutely delightful, faithful couple!
