My sister Wynona (Ipock) Rooks and I graduated from Mansfield High, We were classmates of Winona Goss. We graduated in 1947. We don't know if Winona and Herbert were related.
Having lived in the DFW are all these many years and being from Mansfield, we both would like to pass on our condolences to the family.
Any information about Winona would be appreciated.
Respectfully,
Mary Ipock Haines and Wynona Ipock Rooks

Dear Aunt Lois, Katherine, Mollie, Mark and your families, Please know we are praying for you and your hurting hearts. The pain of not having your husband and father here on earth is so great. I pray that knowing he is totally healed and with God, as well as in the midst of all of the saints, will bring you comfort and strength. I have many sweet memories of Uncle Herb. How loving, patient, and kind he was to me when my Dad was overseas. He was a wonderful man in so many ways and he will be sorely missed. Thinking of his reunion in heaven brings me great joy and comfort!

We are so saddened to hear of Uncle Herbs passing. Dan especially loved Uncle Herb. (they seemed to enjoy swapping stories under the shade tree.) I always seemed to have a special relationship with Uncle Herb. He always seemed interested in my life. I will miss him greatly. Our love to the family.

Lois, Kathi, Mollie, and Mark: My heartfelt sympathy to all the family. I truly cherish so many great memories of all the time I spent at the Goss family home. I even felt like family, cuz you all treated me like I was. Herb was such a great Christian man and role model for us kids. I'll never forget watching how cute it was for him to have Mark, as a toddler, next to him in the front seat of his pickup driving away for some quality father-son time. This was a frequent occurrence & I just always enjoyed watching it. The house seemed to always be filled with inviting warmth, love, laughter, and peace. Guess that's why so many of us "adopted" daughters liked to "hang-out" there. Herb is a perfect example of a life well lived.
