Leo Charles Goss, 92, a retired AT&T supervisor, peacefully passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, in Niles, Michigan. Born on February 14, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, Leo was the eldest son of the late Leo C. and Vera (Blackhall) Goss. He was the husband of the late Evelyn (Connor) Goss of 26 years and previously married to the late Donna Mae (Davis) Smith for 24 years. He was a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, along with being an avid sailor and golfer.

Leo's formative years were spent in Detroit, where he met Donna in high school, and graduated from Cooley High School in 1952. His journey continued after high school where he was hired in at Western Electric, however, was soon drafted into the military. He was selected to serve in the Air Force and began his training to become a Crew Chief of a B-47 Bomber at Lakeland Air Base. Although never seeing action, he was assigned to the Lake Charles Air Force Base in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Leo was discharged from the Air Force in 1953, where upon he rejoined Western Electric. He soon became supervisor and spent twelve years in Plymouth, and 10 years in Indianapolis. An opportunity arrived in 1975 where he could transfer to AT&T and subsequently moved to Niles, Michigan to supervise shipping and receiving at the newly built Niles AT&T Regional Warehouse. Leo retired from AT&T in 1990.

Leo spent the better part of 30 years retired in first; Inverness, Florida, and then Ocala, Florida. In 2020. Leo returned to Niles to be close to his family.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents and a sibling, David (Georgina) Goss.

Leo leaves behind three daughters; Elizabeth (Betty) Uebelhor, Kathryn (Kathy) Masten, Sharon (Jerry) (Mae Mae) Reeves, and a son and daughter-in-law; Leo Charles (Chuck) and Martha A (Boyer) Goss Jr. Leo is also survived by eight grandchildren; Eric (Gina) Uebelhor, Danny (Carrie) Uebelhor, Leo Charles (Sara) Goss III, Shannon (Jason) Goss, Jaime (Josh) Friessen, Julie Gozzola, Kayla Reeves, Kacy (Tyler) Toney, and nine great-grandchildren; J.J., Danny, Gracie, Alyssa, Olivia, Alexis, Easton, Jackson, and Skye.

Leo leaves behind a life full of love, passion, and sincere dedication for the people in his life and the hobbies that challenged him. Leo was honest and he was consistent in his convictions.

Military burial services will be held at a later date in Knightstown, Indiana, where he will be interred and laid to rest at Glen Cove Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
