Herbert H Halcomb

Herbert Halcomb, age 80, of Metamora, Indiana passed away early Tuesday morning, April 8, 2025 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Born February 18, 1945 in Blooming Grove, Indiana he was the son of the late William Carl & Ethel (Allen) Halcomb. On November 16, 1974 he was united in marriage to the former Carol Sue Ison, and she survives.
Herb was retired, having driven a truck for much of his life. In his leisure time he enjoyed woodworking, horseback riding, hanging out in the garage and telling jokes; as well as spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Metamora Church of God.
Besides Sue, his loving wife of over 50 years, survivors include three children, Lisa Smith of Laurel, Indiana, Jeff Cox of Laurel, Indiana and Gary Cox of Connersville, Indiana; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Donnie Halcomb, Joe (Lucy) Halcomb, Mary (Gene) Hacker all of Metamora, Indiana and Linda (Gary) Back of Connersville, Indiana.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Halcomb; two grandchildren, Caleb & Sara Cox; a sister, Evelyn Halcomb, two brothers, James A. Halcomb and Gene Halcomb.
Family & friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Metamora Church of God, 20152 U.S. Highway 52, Metamora, Indiana.
Rev. Wayne Ison will officiate the Funeral Service at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Metamora Church of God. Burial will follow in Metamora Cemetery.
