Reverend Herbert Morgan Kinney

The Reverend Herbert Morgan Kinney, 91, of Elkton, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 19, 2011, at Willow Estates in Penn Laird. The Reverend Kinney was born on May 31, 1920, in Worchester, Massachusetts, to the late George Herbert and Hope Willson Kinney. The Reverend Kinney came to the area in 1943 from Providence, Rhode Island, where he graduated from the Providence Bible Institute. He was pastor for the Church of Solsburg near Elkton for 51 years. He was involved in C.B.M. ministries for 57 years. He and his wife, Luella taught Bible in the Public school system for over 50 years. On June 15, 1943, he married, Luella Barr Kinney, who preceded him in death on April 7, 2000. Survivors include nieces, Elsie Ivester, Alice Childs and Ruth Bartlett; nephews, Irvin, Edwin and Robert Childs and Paul Barr; and a host of extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2011, at the Church of Solsburg with Pastor Josh Shifflett officiating. Burial will follow at the Elk Run Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011, at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Solsburg, P.O.
