"O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears." Psalm 34:3-4 Mr. Herbert McKnight, affectionately known as Bobby, was born on February 20, 1954, in Sumter County to the late Henry McKnight, Sr. and Mrs. Lucille Dubose McKnight. On August 12, 2025, he quietly slept away from this earthly home. Mr. McKnight accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior early in life and joined Antioch A.M.E. Church, where he served faithfully and diligently in many capacities, including the Steward Board, Trustee Board, Treasure, Usher, and Sons of Allen. He always exemplified his Commitment to God and his church family. His Education was obtained in the public schools of Sumter County. Bobby continued his education at Morris College and graduated with a degree in education. His passion for education and love for agriculture allowed him to teach the learning community in unconventional ways by allowing visits to the family farm. His lessons included animals and gardening. He enjoyed sharing his produce with the community. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, and a sister Mr. McKnight leaves to celebrate his life, one sister, Ms. Elease McKnight of Pinewood, SC; six brothers, Henry (Queen Victoria) McKnight, Jr of New York, NY, Mr. Johnnie McKnight, Mr. Albert McKnight, Mr. Richard McKnight, all of Pinewood, SC, Willie McKnight of Atlanta, GA, and Stanley O'Neil McKnight of Pinewood, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
