Herb lived a life full of passion for both adventure and faith. He found joy in staying active—whether shooting guns, riding motorcycles, hiking the Grand Canyon, restoring classic cars, traveling the world, or hunting prairie dogs with friends. His love for family was evident in the time he spent attending his grandchildren’s sporting events or simply enjoying board games and eating ice cream together.
A devoted man of faith, Herb attended Kansas City Baptist Temple, Graceway, Harvest Baptist Church, and Abundant Life. Over the years, he participated in numerous ministries including Small Group Bible Studies, Jail Ministry, Adult Volleyball, Youth Baseball, Men's Workouts, COPS Obstacle Course Ministry, Hearts and Hammers service projects, Pre-Marital Counseling programs, and more. His dedication to spreading the gospel took him on mission trips across the United States as well as to the Philippines, El Salvador, and Israel.
Above all else, Herb was a selfless servant of Christ who loved everyone he encountered. His adventurous spirit and deep compassion left an indelible mark on those who knew him. A memorial gathering will be held on March 13, 2025 at Living Faith Church located at 1121 SW Hook Road in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Herb’s memory will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know him.
