WEST CHAZY - Herbert Guy Nutting Jr. "Herbie", age 54, passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side at his home in West Chazy, NY on June 15th, 2024 after a 5 month battle with cancer.
Born in Bellows Falls, VT on March 10th, 1970 to the late Shirley Thompson Nutting and Herbert Nutting Sr. He was the baby of 5 children.
Herbie moved to Enosburg as a teen and lived in Franklin County, VT most of his life. Herbie married the love of his life in 2008, Vicki. They moved to NY in 2015 where they lived for the last 8 years.
Herbie had a wild and adventurous side from a young age. He would strike up a conversation with anybody. He'd give the shirt off his back to anyone. He knew everybody. Herbie's love of adventure led him to be a trucker at heart, where he spent most of his life traveling the US. He had a need for speed when it came to toys, especially motorcycles, snowmobiles, and boats. Herbie loved food and to cook. He was tough and stubborn pushing through a battle with pancreatitis resulting in a 7 month stay in the hospital in 2012. He has battled many health issues since.
Herbie lived by his Motto, "I'm only here for a good time not a long time."
Herbie is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Vicki Jo Nutting; children, Morgan Nutting and wife Megan of Richford, VT, Gabrielle Elwood (Nutting) and her husband Kyle of Richford, VT, bonus children, Leonard Hemingway and his wife Selena of Enosburg, VT, Jordan Hemingway of Troy VT, and Billy Ray Hemingway and significant other, Emily Stanhope of Berkshire, VT; grandchildren, Brantley, Emmaryah, Miley, Carolina, Rhett, Sawyer, Miah, Cayden, Addison, Lucille, Kaydence, Kinsley and Ryker; his pride and Joy puppy, Shaggy; mother-in-law, Susan Edward; sister-in-laws, Patti Elwood and Lori Partlow; siblings, James and Cindy Nutting, Lisa and Tom Bergeron, Deborah and Ron Fuller, and Walter Nutting. Herbert was predeceased by his parents, Herbert Guy Nutting Sr and Shirley Nutting(Thompson), and a son, Hunter Guy Nutting.
Friends and family will be invited Herbie's life celebration events to include visitation on Monday, July 8th, 2024, Immediate family will be from 12-1:00PM and publice visitation from 1-2:00PM, a graveside service will follow at 2:30PM at the Enosburg Center Cemetery, Boston Post Road, Enosburg Falls, VT 05450.
Any contributions in Honor of Herbie can be made to the Herbert G Nutting Jr. CDL Scholarship Fund.
