Herbert Perciavalle peacefully passed at home with his loving wife Angela beside him. Herb was a Brother, Husband, Dad, Grandfather, and Uncle to a family who will miss him terribly.
Herb was born in Queens, NY and shortly thereafter moved to the Bronx, where he grew up and eventually met the love of his life, Angela. They were married June 20, 1959 and just recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
After high school, Herb worked at the Brooklyn Navy Yard; then, on a dare from friends, took the New York Fire Department test. He aced the test, and that dare turned into a 41-year career. He retired in 2000 as a Battalion Chief in the 19th Battalion in the Bronx, NY.
As avid travelers, Herb and Angela traversed the world, and made it to almost every country except for Australia. They loved the United States and visited almost every state, too!
As frustrating as the game of golf was to Herb, he was an avid golfer, out on the course as often as his schedule and the weather would allow. This persistence with golf paid off, because in 2022 he scored the elusive Hole in One!
Herb's survivors include his wife, Angela; son Anthony, his wife Karen and their children Juliana and Anthony Jr and his wife Maria; his daughter Diane, her husband Charles and their child Joshua; his sister Silvia, her husband Bill and their children Bill Barrett and Cathy Morse; niece Donna Sands and nephew Raymond Iallonardo. He is predeceased by his parents, Caterina and Eriberto Perciavalle, and his sister Mary and her husband Genio Iallonardo.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to either the FDNY Widows and Children's fund, or United Hospice Inc.
