Herbert Ralph Rick II, affectionately known as "Herb," passed away on January 5, 2025, in Margate, Florida, at the age of 86. Born on June 10, 1938, in Ravenna, Ohio, He graduted Fort Lauderdale High School in 1957. Herb dedicated his life to supporting his family and his community, building a legacy that will not soon be forgotten.
Herb owned and worked at the Atlantic Burial and Casket Company, where he provided compassion and service to many during their most difficult times. His commitment to his profession was evident in the care he extended to families, offering them comfort and respect during challenging moments.
Alongside his professional endeavors, Herb was a man of passions and varied interests. He loved playing tennis and chess.
Herb is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Joan Rick; his son, H. Ralph Rick III; and his grandsons, Darin R. Lange and Ryan Jay Rick II. He is also lovingly remembered by his daughter-in-law, Deborah Hott; brother-in-law, Donald Hedleston; and sister-in-law, Elaine Hedleston, and many nieces and nephews. Herb was a proud grandfather to two grandchildren, who cherished the time spent with him.
A Memorial Gathering will be held in his honor on February 1, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home located at 7001 NW 4th St, Plantation, Florida, 33317.
Herb's warmth, dedication, and genuine spirit have left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him. He will forever be remembered with love and respect by his family, friends, and community.
