GILMER- Funeral Services for Glenn Smith, 76, of Gilmer will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, Texas with Bro. Charles Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Upshur County. Mr. Smith passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016 in Gilmer. He was born in Pittsburg, Texas to Mable and H.C. Smith on December 15, 1939. After finishing college he served in the U.S. Army. He then went on to coach and teach for eighteen years at Grand Saline, Ore City, and Gilmer. He met and married Jo Beth Dugger in 1966, and together they raised three children. Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Jo Beth Smith; brothers, Tony Smith and wife, Lynette , Larry Smith and wife, Ann; son, Eddie Dugger and wife, Karla of Ore City, Debbie Whitfield of Lindale, and Robbie Dugger of Brownwood, Texas; grandchildren, Scott Whitfield and wife, Michelle, Melissa Blair and husband, Scott, Stephanie Larkins, Makenzie Bingham and husband, Chris, Kyla Jo Dugger, Sara Aquirre, Julie Minton and husband, Daniel, Adam Whitfield and wife, Chelsea; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, H.C. and Mable Smith. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
