Herbert Vernal Obituary
Herbert Vernal Jr., a resident of Darien, passed away at Stamford Hospital on Sunday, April 14, 2024. He was 98 years old. Herb was born to the late Herbert Vernal Sr. and Florence Freitag on November 27, 1925, in Stamford, CT.
Herb graduated from Stamford High School and joined the Navy during WWII. After serving in the Navy, Herb worked as a Routeman for Borden Dairy.
Herb's memory will forever be cherished by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ethel of Darien, his son, H. Dave Vernal of Norwalk, CT, his daughter, Sharon Jermeay of Beaufort, SC, and his four adoring grandchildren, Melanie Vernal of Norwalk, CT, Christopher Vernal of Washington, DC, and Nicole Pikula of Richmond Hill, GA, and Danielle Oquendo of Toledo, Ohio. Herb was predeceased by a brother, Robert J. Vernal of Guilford, Maine. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence Funeral Home.
