Herchel Timothy Deale

Herchel Timothy Deale, 65, from Pensacola, FL passed away from a tragic, accidental drowning on July 29th, 2025. He was born in Birmingham, AL to the proud parents of Clovis and Wyatte Deale.

He excelled in many areas throughout his lifetime. He received a college scholarship in basketball to Troy State University showing his ability on the court. Later in his life he was an avid golfer and played at many different courses as often as possible. He was a champion dart player and without a doubt a true University of Alabama football fan. Saturday game days were always enjoyed with good food, family and friends. He succeeded in several different career paths until he settled on plumbing. He apprenticed and became a Master Plumber and owned his own business (Deale Plumbing). He often chose to help people through his business with charity work and donations of his time and plumbing skills. When the opportunity came to travel to Antarctica to work, he did not hesitate and spent several seasons at the famous McMurdo Station where he became friends with other people from around the world. This is only one example of his willingness to seek out unique opportunities and adventures. He also excelled at grilling and enjoyed sharing these big meals with family and friends, either in person or through photo sharing. He had a larger-than-life personality and made friends everywhere he went. He will be deeply missed by all his family and his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of (25) years Belinda Deale; his parents, his eldest brother, Ted King (Riley); and his loving pets "Maxi" & Molli", cherished golden retrievers.

Herchel is survived by his children, Jonathan (Morgan) Deale, Nicholas (Kailen) Deale, and Kindall Phelps; his stepchildren, Aaron Wilson, Brent Wilson and Daneille Walker; his grandchildren, Elyas Ethan, Ember Elora, Thomas, Hudson, Charlotte, and Boston James. He is also survived by his brothers, Mike Deale and Joe Abercrombie; sisters, Pam Nichols and Barbara Sanchez; and his twin sister, Kim Deale Benson. In addition, he has many nieces, nephews, and great nieces. He was also close to many of his cousins all his life.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled at Providence Baptist Church, 190 County Road 46, Montevallo, AL 35115 on August 23rd, 2025, visitation beginning at 10:30 AM, with the service to start at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers you can choose to donate to a local humane society shelter of your choice.
