Herman Clay McGregor
Herman Clay was born on October 23, 1957, at Presbyterian Hospital, in Denver, Colorado, to Herman and Marie McGregor. He was known by everyone as "Clay"; and to many as "Clayboy". The cool, calm, and collected member of the family. A well-mannered, respectful, and courteous individual. Clay comes from a very large family. In which his childhood home was three doors down from his Aunt's and cousins' house. Cousins to whom were so close in proximity, both literally and figuratively, he considered his siblings. Many family memories were created, and are cherished, throughout his early years.
Clay attended Smith Elementary, Hill Junior High, and George Washington High School, all in Denver, Colorado. As a student, he participated in many sports and athletics, such as basketball and kickball, Additionally, he was skilled in the arts, with a particular interest in ceramics. Clay excelled in the ROTC program offered at the school as well. In his teen years and beyond, he developed a love for cards. Especially his 1964 Cadillac Sedan DeVille.
Throughout the years, he attended The Unified Body of Christ Apostolic Church, in Denver, Colorado. At every service, he sat alongside with his sister, Guinevere, while the church was, and is, pastored by his uncle, Louis Washington.
Our hearts are heavy and saddened as we grieve the passing of our dear loved one, Herman Clay McGregor, who transcended from this earthly place on Sunday morning, January 26, 2025.
Herman Clay is preceded in death by his father, Herman McGregor; and his sister, Melody McGregor.
Family left to mourn him are his mother, Marie Angel Alley; brothers, Leon McGregor and Elliot McGregor; sisters, Guinevere Parker, Letha Brewer (Rick), Verdina Maxwell Carter (Bryan), and Anita Maxwell Tolle (Daniel); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, [great] nieces, [great] nephews, and friends... too many to be named.
