Herman Edward Ragsdale

Mr. Herman Edward Ragsdale, age 86, a resident of Lewisburg, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.. 

Mr. Ragsdale was born on October 23, 1938, in Marshall County, Tennessee and was the son of the late John and Lela Ragsdale. He enjoyed life and found pleasure in the simple things. A skilled worker with his hands lead to his career as a well known auto mechanic and people would come from miles around for his mechanical skills. He enjoyed his goats as well as laughing and joking around with everyone he knew, and being outdoors. Herman was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Gerry Ragsdale and Tammy (Tommy) Whaley, grandchildren, Heather (Cody) Bowman, Tabitha (Brian) Hartley, Haley (Josh) Pate, Savanna Ragsdale, Luke (Montana) Whaley, and Becca Whaley, as well as sixteen great grandchildren, sister, Laverne Ragsdale, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ragsdale, brothers, Clyde Ragsdale, Bill Ragsdale, J.L. Ragsdale, James Ragsdale, Bobby Ragsdale, Tom Ragsdale; sisters, Louise Hargrove and Maggie Smotherman.
