Hester Ima Seabaugh (nee Estes) of Saint Peters, Mo. passed away Thursday, February 20th at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Donald Earl Seabaugh; Cherished daughter of the late Jessie and Mary Estes; Devoted mother of Karen, wife of the late Alan Schroeder and the late Cathy, wife of Robert Thomas; Loving Mimi of Carley (Nicholas) Gumm, Victor (Tori) Schroeder, Jeremy (Becky Block) Schroeder, Morgan (Taiyana) Thomas-Poore; Precious Great-Grandmother to Skylar Marie Gumm and Adalyn Kaye Gumm. Dear sister of the late Vesta (Robert) Terry and Justin (Helen) Estes. Loving brothers Jerry(Sharon) Estes, Ivan Estes and youngest sister Winnis Klippel. She was a cousin, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt and friend.
Hester was born in Jackson, Mo. where she began working as a nanny at age 12. She enjoyed listening to Polka music and was known to dance the jitterbug. Hester was a lunch lady at St. Charles School District, where her daughters attended school. For many years, she would carpool with the other ladies working side by side together at all the local schools.
Hester was one of a kind, strong, resilient, and loving person. She had a love for watching the St. Louis Cardinals and also for being outside. She and Don would take long drives through the country enjoying a flea market or fruit stand on the way. She enjoyed baking and shared her homemade apple pie or chocolate brownies at every family function.
In recent years, Hester faced challenges with mobility, but it never held her back. She loved leaving her room at McClay Senior Care to people-watch and participate in various activities. Trivia, crafts and especially Bingo were among her favorites. Known for her remarkable memory, Hester never forgot a thing. Above all, she deeply treasured her family and the friendships she had. She truly cherished and was cherished by all.
