Obituary
Unity, NH: Hilda M. Branch, 87, passed away at Sullivan County Health Care on February 21, 2023. She was born in Claremont, NH on November 24, 1935 to the late Alfred and Sally (Colby) Branch. Hilda was the second oldest of 5 children. She spent all of her life in the Claremont and Newport areas.
Hilda attended the Austine School for the Deaf in Brattleboro, VT. She was a kind, pleasant woman. You couldn't help but love her if you met her. She lived in Newport for 24 years since 1998 with Home Provider, Rebecca Pietras. Hilda loved Becky and Chris as well as their children-Chris, Shirley, Bobby, and Bekah. As their family grew Hilda loved to see the grandchildren come as well-Noah, Elijah and Samara. Hilda loved being part of the Pietras family, always smiling and laughing. Her smile was contagious to everyone she met. Hilda had a cat, Lucy, that she cared for each day and always made sure she was well taken care of.
Hilda loved Elvis, holding babies, and grocery shopping. She was a happy woman who liked to laugh and also had a mild stubborn streak. She was a kind soul and will be missed.
Hilda was predeceased by her four siblings: Margaret Kelley, Roger Branch, William Branch, and Christine Chamberlain
Hilda is survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday March 16, 2023 at 3 PM at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH.
