Hilda Fillingim Davis

Hilda Fillingim Davis, 104, died peacefully, November 18, 2023, at her home with her daughter and grandson by her side.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will have a private interment at Evergreen Memorial Park in Columbus, GA.
Hilda was born August 24, 1919 in Clayton, AL to the late William Robert Fillingim and Annie Allen Fillingim. Mrs. Davis was a member of Gentian Baptist Church in Columbus. She retired as a bookkeeper for A&P Grocery Company. She worked as a volunteer at Columbus Hospice House, crocheted lap robes for patients at Columbus Hospice and baby blankets for new born babies. Hilda loved gardening, word search puzzles and was very dedicated to her daily Bible reading. She was also an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Lloyd C. Davis who died in 2008.
Survivors include her daughter, Doris Tice of Columbus, GA, sons, Horace Davis (James Joyce) of North Redington Beach, FL, Garry Davis (Mary Alice) of Appling, GA, grandsons, Jack Tice, Jr., Richard Davis (Daphne), granddaughter, Julia Baldi, she was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren.
Our special thanks to her loving grandson, Jack, who was her constant caregiver during these last weeks. Also, many thanks, to the Caregivers at Columbus Hospice and Carevity Home Care.
