Hildegard "Hildy" Nilges

In Loving Memory

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Hildegard "Hildy"Nilges. Surrounded by loved ones, she departed this life peacefully.

Born July 8th, 1938, in Johanneshof, Germany. She attended trade school in Leipzig, Germany learning to sew and perfecting her men's clothing tailoring and seamstress skills. In 1962 she married her late husband Delmar Nilges who was serving in the United States Army. He brought her and the children to the United States of America. She would later have two more children. She worked numerous years for various clothing stores as a tailor specializing in tailoring men's clothing and later around 1999 she would open her own tailor shop known as The Rockton Tailor Shop in Rockton, IL. for 21 years.

She was an avid gardener and had a deep love for dogs and cats, and always donated to charities supporting the welfare of animals.

She is survived by three daughters and two sons, Jorg Nilges, of Rockford, Uta (John) Abate, of Winnebago, Rebecca (Gary) Seaton, of Belvidere, Robert (Julie) Nilges, Plant City, FL, and Melba (Scott) Lightcap, Crystal River, FL; Grandchildren, Corey Seaton, Branton Lightcap, Derek Seaton, Trevor Lightcap, Taylor Parlapiano and Layla Seaton; Great Grandchildren, Blakely Rose Marie Miuccio and Willow Lee Lightcap; she also leaves behind family members in Germany.
