Smith Family Funeral Homes - GlenwoodHixie Irene Cook Whisenhunt, age 85, of Glenwood, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
She was born on March 22, 1940. She was the daughter of Printis E. Cook and Vanner Doss Cook. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.W. Whisenhunt; and her daughter, Rhonda McNully.
Hixie was a part of the Mount Tabor Community and attended Grace Baptist Church. She loved flowers and floral arranging. She would design beautiful arrangements for countless members in the community. She was strong-willed and determined. Hixie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah White of Wylie, Texas; her son-in-law, Bruce McNully of Farmington; sister-in-law, Catherine Williams; her brother-in-law, Jerry Vaught; her special niece, Trudi Knighten; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.
Memorial Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Mount Tabor Cemetery with Bro. Olin Vaughn and Bro. David Keller officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Williams, Mike Williams, Ronnie Knighten, James Dean Cox, Sonny Cox, Todd Ray, and Jerry Don Vaught.
Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home- Glenwood.
