Hoke Lee Gibby

Mr. Hoke Lee Gibby, age 95 of Toccoa passed away Saturday, November 21, 2025, at the Stephens County Hospital.
A son of the late Joe Ben Gibby and Lessie Kay Gibby, he was born August 18, 1930 in Stephens County, Georgia where he had lived most of his life. He was a Veteran of the US Navy serving in the Korean War. He was retired from Local Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union 72, was a member of North Trinity Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge #309 and the VFW Post 4346.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Gibby, three children, Barry Lee Gibby, Perry Hoke Gibby and Jennifer Lynn Gibby and by his siblings, Doyle Gibby, Dan Gibby, Frank Gibby, Thelma Outz, Ruth Williams and Zula Gibby.
He is survived by a niece reared in the home, Cathy Pruitt of Toccoa and her children, Stacey Simmons, Kelly Vaughn, Heather Lathan and Blake Pruitt; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a number of other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 26, 2025, 2 PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Stephen Harris and The Reverend Dennis Ledford officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Blake Pruitt, Stacey Simmons, Johnny Gibby, Danny Gibby, Joe Gibby and Steve Gibby.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 6 pm until 8 pm. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Ralph Goss officiating, with Military Honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
