Mr. Holley Ware Heyward, Jr., 75, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at home, surrounded by his family and friends.
Left to cherish Mr. Holley's memories are his wife, Marilyn Turner Heyward, brother, Terry Dean Heyward, Edward Gordon Reid, nieces and nephews: Dean McDaniel and his wife Jeannie, Michelle Littlejohn and her husband Michael, Retta Stokes and her husband Sid, Nora McClendon, Stevie Culbreath and his wife Beth, Carole Anne Cantey and her husband William, David Matthews and Jonathan Matthews, in-laws: Carolyn Culbreath, Darlene Turner Matthews and her husband Ray, George McDaniel, and Carol Atkinson and her husband, Mike, along with many loving cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.
Holley was born on October 11, 1949, in Greenwood County, to the late Holley Ware Heyward, Sr. and the late Janie Pearl Brown Heyward. He is also preceded in death by his siblings: Eddie Stevens (Steve) Culbreath, Jr. and Virginia H. McDaniel.
Holley was a graduate of Wagener High School and attended Clemson University. Holley took immense pride in his work, whether at the helm of heavy equipment or calling bids at the auctioneer's podium. Holley was a proud member of the Shriners and a Mason. He was the former Grand Master of Cedar Lodge #184, where he served exemplifying the values of brotherhood, charity, and community service.
The Heyward family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Laura Robles and the staff of Amedisys Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Holley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Holley's honor to Cedar Lodge #184 or to the charity of your choice.
A Service Celebrating Holley's life will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
