We are sad to announce the passing of an incredible person who has touched the lives of many. Hollie E Spear Jr. passed away without warning on Monday January 29, 2024. His passing is an incredible loss not just for me, his wife of 35 years but also his family and children, grandchildren and other family and friends who have had the pleasure of knowing him and being a part of this incredibly generous person who enriched the lives of so many. Hollie passed leaving his wife Jennifer of 35 years and his beautiful family. His beloved mother, Sharon Spear, preceded in death by his beloved father Holly Spear Sr and many other treasured family. His sons, Addison (ne Grace), Jordan (ne Lizzy), Nick (ne Taleah), Tyler (ne Jennifer), Dewayne (ne Jessica), Chris (ne Melissa) and daughter Kassi. Sisters Shari and Spouse Chuck, nieces Kyle and Maeve, Sister Tina and children Nick, Bobbie Jo and Great Niece Lydia. Nieces Stephanie, Leonard and family all are grieving his untimely loss. His grandchildren numbered 14 – Including Kahli, Zander, Micheal, Dalton, Dane, Ayva, Emma. Rudy, Elliott, Louis, Blakely, Holden, Jamie and Violet and so many other kids who passed through is life including his exchange family, Tom, Simone, Caio and Finn. Hollie medically retired from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office in 2011 after 30 years of dedicated service. He rescued many, many animals and children in his 30 years of service and remained an advocate of all children and animals for all his 61 years. There was nothing Hollie liked more than spending time with his family, going off road with his jeep and supporting his boys in law enforcement. He also found a passion in rescuing alligators and other wildlife while living in South Florida during the past 5 winters. Please join us for his memorial service on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Dryers Funeral home in Holly at 12 pm to honor his life. We welcome all of his friends to share stories and memories of his incredible years from 4-5pm. A Celebration of Life will occur at 5 – 8 pm at the Holly Moose Lodge where he was a proud member for many years. In lieu of flowers you can bring in an unwrapped toy for a child or pet or the Alzheimer's Association.
