Hollie Gene Suggs, 89, of Thorntown, IN passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2025 at his residence. The Macon County, TN native was a 1956 graduate of Arsenal Tech. High School, former employee of City of Beech Grove Sanitation Department in Indiana from 1970 to 1973, a retired painter at Ohio Steel in Columbus, OH. After retirement, he held a position at the Columbus Fair Auto Auction, loved making quilts, painting, drawing, watching sci-fi, WWE and cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes and attended New Beginnings Church. He was a son of the late Herman P. Suggs and Norma J. Dyer Suggs and husband of the late Velma Alice Kuhn Suggs.
Survivors include 1 son: Mike Suggs, Indianapolis, IN;
3 daughters: Glenda M. Suggs, Los Angeles, CA; Sarah Blake (William), Arlington, WA; Lisa Sims, Indianapolis, IN;
1 sister: Kathleen "Susie" Lafferty (Glenn), Thorntown, IN;
2 grandchildren: William Blake and Sophia Blake;
His special fur friend: Lady;
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at Myers & Hunt Mortuary, 116 West Plum Street, Thorntown, IN. Visitation will be 12:Noon until service time. Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 27, 2025 at Haysville Cemetery and Goad Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
