Hollomon Margaret Ellen Paul Obituary
Celebrating a Life Well Lived
It is with heavy hearts and appreciation of a long and cherished life, that we announce the passing of Margaret Ellen (Lomax) Paul-Hollomon, who departed this life at peace on October 10th, 2025, at the age of 96. Born in Renovo, PA on September 25, 1929, on the brink of the great depression, often recounting stories of dirt floors, outdoor bathrooms and shared pants among her 6 siblings. Margaret overcame this childhood of meager means surviving heartbreak and illness. She touched the lives of many with warmth, kindness, and unwavering support. Known for her positive attitude, self-deprecating sense of humor, compassion and generosity, she was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer counsel.
She married the love of her life Elwood 'Teen' Paul and together they moved their young family to Columbus, OH. 'Aunt Marg' hosted many nieces and nephews for extended periods helping find their way in young adulthood. She became a licensed cosmetologist and practiced in her own home.
Margaret was active in the community, taking part in the OSU Mother's Club, and attending regular exercise classes until practically her last day. She loved people and made friends everywhere she went. A voracious reader who loved to cook, she embraced the challenges in life with courage, grace and optimism.
After Teen's passing in 1981 she became the modern matriarch of her family. Later earning 'best Nana" status with her Velveeta shells and cheese. She was the very first person to learn the news, she was becoming a great grandmother too.
Whether you were her banker, her butcher, or her mail carrier, she wanted to know you and brighten your day. She went about her day singing snatches of her favorite songs, claiming "I don't know all the words to any of them!" Barely five feet high, she traveled in a tiny package, but made a big impact on those around her, declaring, "I try to help someone every day."
