HOLLY BUTCHER

Melvern - Holly Butcher, 55, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at her home in Melvern, Kansas. She was born on August 17, 1970, in Baytown, Texas, the daughter of Eugene and Katie (Hubbard) Daniel.

Holly had grown up around St. Francisville, Louisiana, had lived in Missouri Valley, Iowa and had lived in Melvern for the last ten years.

Holly had worked as a hospital administrative assistant, then for Hewlett-Packard, and she had been a youth director and youth pastor at Emporia First Church of the Nazarene, Sunrise Community Church of the Nazarene, and the First Church of the Nazarene of Council Bluffs, Iowa. She felt deepest about her work in youth ministry.

On December 24, 1998, Holly was united in marriage to Randy Butcher in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Holly was preceded in death by her father, Eugene.

Holly is survived by her husband, Randy of 27 years; her mother, Katie Stafford of St. Francisville, Louisiana; her brother, Robert Daniel of Anchorage, Alaska; her sister, Amy Cutrer of St. Francisville, Louisiana; other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Holly will be held on Friday, January 30 at 2:00pm at the Emporia First Church of the Nazarene. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday January 29th at the Emporia First Church of the Nazarene.
