Cheney, Kansas - Homer Dale Compton was born December 21,1928 on a farm near Anness Kansas to Alson Streeter Compton and Zama Zoe Schammehorn Compton. He departed this life July 29, 2025 at the age of 96.
Homer married Helen Pat Vosburgh on July 30, 1950. They resided in Cheney where they raised their five children.
He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers: Robert, Harold, Roy, Glenn, Earl and Lawrence (Pete) two sisters Mary Jane Alloway and Esther Fornshell; one son Darin Compton and one son-in-law Stan Dixon.
Homer is survived by four daughters: Vicki (Stacy) Turner, Kim (Bruce) Uppendahl, Sandi Dixon, Jana (Steve) Howell, eleven grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at the Cheney United Methodist Church
Monday August 11, 2025 at 10:00 am
