Homer Lee Tate, 76 passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on March 1, 2026 after a long struggle with leukemia. He was born in Grayson County, VA on October 24, 1949.

Homer profoundly touched the lives of many and was known for his friendly "never met a stranger" attitude, his love for his family and friends, and his unwavering faith in God.

Left to cherish his memory, the love of his life and soul mate for over 30 years, Sharon Edwards of Ennice, NC; children, Gina Vaughan (Timmy) of Fries, VA, Randel Edwards of Woodlawn, VA, Amanda Felts (Charles Hanks) of Galax, VA, and Rebecca Edwards of Ennice, NC; grandchildren, Chase Vaughan (Chasity), Justin Quesenberry (Peyton), Noelle Felts (Josh), Sierra Felts, Emma Baumgardner and Olin Pinson; great grandchildren, Banks and Truett Vaughan, and baby boy Adler on the way; sister, Charlotte Brewer (Sam) of Galax, VA; special friends, J.R. Bowers, Ricky Green, Randel Green, and Sam Brewer; his precious fur baby, Buddy who was always in his lap or on his bed.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, March 5, 2026 at High Country Services beginning at 6pm with J.R. Bowers officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 5pm until 6pm or other times at the residence, 1387 Crab Creek Road, Ennice, NC 28623.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Mountain View Hospice of Elkin, NC and Nurse Jessica for their compassionate care; and to our friends and family for their support during Homer Lee's illness and passing.
