Larry Gale "Gizmo" Tate

Mr. Larry "Gizmo" Gale Tate, 78, of Fries, VA passed away on February 25, 2026 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA. He is preceded in death by his father and his mother, Mary Ann Tate. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Joan Hayes, and a brother, David Waller.

Larry is survived by his son, William Tate of Fries, VA; two daughters, Kimberly Tate of Fries, VA, and Desiree Tate of Sparta, NC; three brothers, Tim Bond and wife, Pam of Fries, VA, Kent Bond of Independence, VA, and Johnny Bond of Fries, VA, four sisters, Regina Reynolds and husband, Paul of Mt. Airy, NC, Emily Potts of Kingsport, TN, Bonnie Bond of Mt. Airy, NC and Ellen Blackburn of NC; three grandchildren, Tlachtga Anais Rose Price, Leonidas Lopez, and Seika Lopez.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 at High Country Services beginning at 6:00pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 5:00pm until 6:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to help assist the family with funeral expenses under the tribute fund tab located on his obituary page.
