Judy Elizabeth Smith

Judy Elizabeth (Swain) Smith, age 70, a lifelong resident of Galax, Virginia, passed away on February 14, 2026, in Galax, Virginia, after a long battle with COPD. She was born on March 17, 1955, in Galax, Virginia, to George Swain and Stella Cleo Haga. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Calvin Swain, Donald Swain, James Swain, and Ronnie Swain, and her sisters, Shirley Coleman, Betty Goad, and Joanne Brown.

She is survived by her longtime partner, Donald Lundy of Galax, Virginia; her daughter, Heather Anders of Abingdon, Virginia; her granddaughter, Aubrey Anders of Abingdon, Virginia; and her siblings, Gary Swain and Kathy Swain.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to long-term family friend Pat Golding for the help and comfort shown during this difficult time. In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of High Country Services.
