Hope Wainer passed peacefully at her home on March 12, 2026. She was 71.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Seymour and Micki Engleberg, she was one of three children. As a young girl she moved with her family to White Meadow Lake in Rockaway Township whwere she

enjoyed the community and new friendships.

At an early age, she met Robert Wainer, and the rest was history. Childhood friends and later a courtship, Hope and Rob married in 1974 and settled in Rockaway, where they built a loving home and raised their family.

Hope was a devoted wife and the loving mother of three children. She worked side by side with Rob to create a wonderful life for their family. A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, she used her education degree to teach young children at the Pine Brook Jewish Center, where she was known as a gifted and creative teacher.

Hope was naturally talented, especially with crafts, and was always generous with her time, creativity, and kindness. Many years ago, she suffered a stroke and bravely faced declining health in the years that followed.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Robert; her children Jared (Larisa), Deron (Lauren), and Morgan Weiss (AJ); and her seven adored grandchildren; Leo, Stella, Jonah, Layla, Arlo, Ruby, and Sunny. She is also survived by her brother Steven (Leslie) Engleberg and sister Mindy (Tom) Petrillo, along with many dear relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Terry Engleberg.
