Howard Lee Atchley

Howard Atchley, 69, of Seymour passed away Monday Jan. 3, 2005 at his home. He was a member, Deacon, and Sunday School teacher at Valley Grove Baptist Church and a member of the floral arrangement committee. Mr. Atchley taught Biology and Physiology for 33 years at Holston High School where he was chairman of the Science Department. He was a member of the PTA, NEA, KCEA, TEA, Smoky Mt. Orchid Society, Knoxville Cactus and Succulent Society, a volunteer with CROSS ministries and hobby photography. Survivors: Wife; Betty Thomas Atchley Brothers and sisters-in-law; Glen and Patsy Atchley Dan and Mary Whitson Cecil and Pamela Thomas Nieces; Pam Strege and husband Brian Gina Hilditch and husband James Holly Jenkins and husband Michael Grand nieces and nephews; Jana and Sierra Hilditch Brooke and Bryce Jenkins Funeral service 7 PM Wednesday at Valley Grove Baptist Church. Dr. Bobby Tucker officiating. Interment 10 AM Thursday at Highland South Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Wednesday at Valley Grove Baptist Church.
