Howard Francis Capshaw, "Buddy" of Houston, Texas at the great age of 88, left this earthly life and ran into the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025.

Buddy was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1955-1958. Afterwards, he met the love of his life in the fall of 1958, our mom Sue. They moved from Oklahoma to Houston, Texas due to a job transfer in 1974. It was Houston that he called home and raised three great kids together. His longtime hobbies and passions included hunting, fishing & noodlin', gunsmithing and woodworking; he was so talented.

Buddy's deepest devotions belonged to his family and God. He was a long-time member of Westway Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Director for many years.

Buddy is preceded in death by his father and mother Howard and Frances Capshaw, his brother Robert Capshaw and his wife and our mom Sue Ellen Capshaw.

Buddy is loved and will be remembered by his son Lynn Hooper and wife Lisa, son Howard Capshaw and wife Raquel, daughter Kyra Barnes and husband Brint, grandchildren Ryan and his wife Erin, Leah and her husband Jake, Katelyn, Bonnie and her husband Emanuel, JJ and his wife Clari, Tury and his wife Stephanie, Christopher, Jessica and her husband Billy, Grace and husband Will, Elizabeth and Ginny. He was blessed with a large and loving family including 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, September 29th at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral home from 4:00-8:00pm. The graveside burial will be held at Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038 on Tuesday, September 30th at 10:00am.
