Howard Cherry Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 15, 2025.
Howard R. Cherry, Jr., age 79, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, after a life lived fully and on his own terms. Born on January 1, 1946, in Marinette, Wisconsin, to Howard Sr. and Winnifred Cherry, Howard grew up with a strong sense of curiosity, adventure, and dedication that he carried throughout his life.

In 1965, Howard married the love of his life, Beverly, in Crivitz, Wisconsin. Together, they shared nearly six decades of love, laughter, and endless adventure. The two traveled the world side by side - from a three-week stay in China to a memorable stop in Cuba, a jungle camp in Venezuela, and zip lining through the rainforests of Puerto Rico. Their journeys also took them across Europe, visiting England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Germany, Austria, and Italy, as well as many cherished trips throughout the Bahamas and the United States.

Howard spent 20 years working for the Ansul Company in Marinette before becoming the proud owner of a Radio Shack franchise in Crivitz, which he operated successfully for 21 years. Following his retirement, Howard and Bev settled in Punta Gorda, Florida, where they enjoyed 20 wonderful years of sunshine and friendship. Always one to live life to the fullest, Howard checked off every item on his bucket list - including owning his dream car, a little red Corvette.

Howard was a proud Freemason and was respected for his integrity, warmth, and kindness. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and generous heart.

Howard is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly; his son, Scott Cherry; grandchildren Jacob Howard (Paula) Cherry, Andrew Alan Cherry, and Matthew Howard (Nadine) Cherry; and great-granddaughter Braelynn Cherry. He is also survived by his brothers Bill (Rita) Cherry and Lyle (Joyce) Cherry. Howard was preceded in death by his son, Gordon Spencer Cherry.

In accordance with his wishes, Howard was cremated, and no formal funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the National Aplasia Appreciation.

Howard lived his life with purpose, joy, and love - leaving behind countless memories and a legacy that will be cherished forever.
