Howard "Gene" Davison

1934 - 2024

For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. Howard "Gene" Davison, 90, Marion, passed away from natural causes at 7:08 am on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Friday, May 25, 1934, to Lester and Blanche Davison.

Gene graduated from Sweetser High School in 1952 and, after graduation, was a tool and die maker at Fisher Body. He served in the Army National Guard before starting a successful lifelong career in farming alongside Wayne Smock. On June 28, 1956, he married Helen Planck at St. James Lutheran Church in Marion.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; son, Daniel; daughter-in-law, Jennifer; two granddaughters; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; older brother, Bob Davison; and younger sister, Dorothy Kriegbaum.

The family will receive visitors from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Bethel Friends Church, 1491 W. 600 S., Jonesboro, IN, where Gene and Helen are members.

Directly following visitation, a funeral service for Gene will be officiated by Pastor Doug Haag at 11:30 am. Burial will take place at Estates of Serenity in Marion.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethel Friends Church, 1491 W. 600 S., Jonesboro, IN 46938.
